PGAL to Design New ConRAC at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR)
PGAL was recently selected to design a new consolidated rental car center (ConRAC) at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR).
A component of the SYR Landside Improvement Project, the new facility will accommodate the airport’s recent growth and expected increase in both rental car and aviation demand.
Based on preliminary planning and conceptual design work completed to date, the two-level, 432,000-sq.-ft. facility is expected to house approximately 1,250 ready/return stalls. It will also include a weather protection canopy over a walking path that links the facility with the passenger terminal. Other components include provisions for a future bus stop and roadway improvements to improve passenger access and circulation and electric vehicle charging for the changing rental car fleets.
“We could not be more excited that we have been selected by the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority to design this new facility, continuing our nationwide involvement in the development of customer focused, operationally efficient, and environmentally friendly facilities that align with this Airport Authority’s goals and objectives for the future of this fast-growing airport,” said PGAL Principal Payal Harrell.
Construction is projected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025.
