Aventura Cultural Arts Center Takes Top Design Award

The Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter selected the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center their Project of the Year on Saturday night. Designed by PGAL and built by Suffolk Construction, the 15,000 sf, 325 seat performing arts center makes a dramatic presence on the City’s waterfront. Floor to ceiling glass provides optimum views inside and out; its modern aesthetic and interior finishes are organic in form yet highly sophisticated in ambiance. The project was completed in June 2010.

Designed by PGAL, the water-themed $7 million, 320-seat performing arts facility in Aventura, FL has been named a Gold Medal project by Building of America Network and will be featured on www.buildingofamerica.com. It features a proscenium theatre, an elegant free-form lobby with ticket box office and café, backstage support and administrative space. Connected to adjacent Baywalk by its open plaza, the center is a signature element in the city’s urban fabric and a perfect stage for outdoor/indoor venues.
