PGAL and Turner Construction Earn 2016 Excellence in Construction Award
PGAL and Turner Construction took home a prestigious ICE Award in the Interiors category at the 2016 Excellence in Construction Awards competition, sponsored by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston.
The team was honored for its renovation of an airport lounge in Terminal D at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Designed to elevate the travel experience with a special airport retreat, the $6.5 million, 9,400-square-foot project features multiple guest lounges, a full-service bar, kitchen and conference space, computer bar, and family room.
The 2016 Excellence in Construction Awards Gala recognized outstanding projects in the commercial and industrial construction industry. A panel of 23 distinguished judges evaluated projects in the areas of safety, execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, installation, and other considerations. Former NFL Running Back and Sports Broadcaster Spencer Tillman served as emcee of the October 21 event, which attracted more than 300 attendees.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized for our work by our industry peers,” says PGAL Principal Cheryl Gajeske. “Our team is honored to be included with other Houston design and construction leaders.”
