DCA’s New North Concourse Wins AIA Northern Virginia Design Award

Members of the DCA New North Concourse project team (AIR Alliance Joint Venture) attended the 2022 AIA Northern Virginia Design Awards Gala on Thursday, August 25 to accept the Jurors’ Citation for Responsible Design for the Transportation and Infrastructure category.

Part of a $1 billion Terminal B/C Redevelopment Program (“Project Journey”), the New North Concourse project enhances the passenger experience at DCA by providing 14 gates that replaced the existing ground loading operations. The architecture emphasizes an open and light filled interior that provides passengers full view to all amenities and reinforces intuitive wayfinding to all gates. 

The AIA Northern Virginia Chapter Design Awards Program was created to recognize and celebrate achievements in the design of the built environment.
