Baseball Legend to Pitch at PGAL Designed Ballpark

Eleven time All Star and seven time Cy Young Award Winner Roger Clemens came out of a five-year retirement on Saturday to pitch for the Sugar Land Skeeters at the PGAL designed Constellation Field. PGAL served as Program Manager for the Design/Build of the new Skeeters ballpark for the City of Sugar Land. PGAL worked with key City stakeholders to develop initial design concepts and produce 50% bridging documents, preliminary schedules and budgets. PGAL wrote a comprehensive Design/Build RFP for the city and assisted with review and evaluation of the proposals which assisted in minimizing the City's project risk. The finished stadium was featured on ESPN's nationally televised broadcast on Saturday August 25th.

PGAL was actively involved in technical reviews, value engineering, budget and schedule reviews ensuring that the design intent developed by the City was carried out on the project. During construction, PGAL's role as an extension of the Owner continued with site visits and technical submittal reviews, as well as strictly monitoring the cost and schedule to avoid scope creep.

Constellation Field is a state-of-the-art multipurpose Triple-A ballpark. Amenities included will permit not only high level professional baseball, but also other sports including football, soccer, lacrosse, cheerleading and band competitions, as well as concerts, group outings, and scout sleepovers. Total ballpark capacity will be approximately 7,500 for baseball (expandable to 10,000) and 9,500 in concert configuration.

Amenities include approximately 21 Suites; upper level club seating; a year-round meeting / dining / entertainment space; picnic deck; extensive playground facilities and much more. Fans will be able to circulate 360 degrees around the ballpark, sit in luxury armchair seats, or bring your own blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy the game from the grass areas.
