South Montgomery County ESD No. 8 Fire Station 11-2
PGAL designed this 10,000-square-foot facility to aesthetically blend into the surrounding neighborhood.
The one-story facility includes a new fire department building for Montgomery County Emergency Service District (ESD) No. 8, as well as a small police substation. As a key emergency facility for the county, Fire Station 11-2 has 100 percent emergency backup power.
The station features four double-depth pull-through apparatus bays, with three for standard fire trucks and one for the Quint Engine, which includes a 107-foot ladder.
The building contains all the necessary functions of a 24/7 facility, including day crew offices, kitchen and storage for three shifts, laundry, a workshop, a fitness area, five individual sleeping quarters, a FEMA-rated safe room, restrooms, and other support spaces.
