PGAL to Design New Las Vegas Municipal Courthouse
PGAL, LLC will design the new Municipal Courthouse in downtown Las Vegas, following the Las Vegas City Council’s unanimous approval of the plan to develop the facility.
The project is being developed by The Molasky Group of Companies under a public-private partnership (P3). The $36 million project will be constructed by Martin Harris Construction.
The four-story, 120,000-square-foot building will be located within the Civic and Business District, designed to visually tie with the existing Las Vegas City Hall and the Clark County Regional Justice Center.
The site was selected due to its proximity to City Hall and the opportunity to further reinforce this area as the Civic center of the City.
The new Courthouse will be designed to meet LEED Silver level requirements and will meet or exceed the requirements of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice: Sustainable Justice Guidelines.
“This state-of-the-art new courthouse will play an important civic role for the city, and we’re proud to be a part of the Molasky and Martin Harris team to help bring it to life,” says Chris Larsen, principal of the PGAL Las Vegas office.
Construction of the new courthouse is expected to be completed in January 2021.
