Terminal 3 and Related Facilities at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
PGAL served as prime consultant and lead architect for International Terminal 3 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The project included a 1.8 million-square-foot terminal building on three levels with 14 new aircraft gates, including seven international swing gates. PGAL also provided terminal facilities for an existing 30-gate concourse that is linked by an ATS people mover system. A new central plant serves these new facilities.
Designed to accommodate a variety of aircrafts, including wide bodies, the international gates serve as “swing gates,” providing additional domestic gate capacity as needed. The Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facilities are designed to process arriving international passengers at a rate of 1,600 passengers per hour. The FIS design incorporates elements from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s “Model Ports of Entry” program, as well as “Global Entry” expedited processing.
The design features multiple security screening checkpoints and baggage claim devices that serve both international and domestic operations. The terminal facilities serve 44 gates and include ticketing, security screening checkpoints, outbound baggage operations with in-line EDS screening, inbound baggage and baggage claim facilities, concessions (including retail, food and beverage, and gaming), and airline support. The terminal is supported by a new roadway system and parking structure.
