The Village at Nevada State College
Nevada State College’s inaugural student housing project creates a dynamic and engaging residential experience.
Developed in two phases, the four-story apartment-style complex accommodates 252 students, offering a mix of one-bedroom/one-bath, two-bedroom/two-bath, and four-bedroom/two-bath units. Each building also includes a dedicated staff apartment.
Designed to foster a sense of community while supporting academic success, each building features open lounge spaces for social interaction and enclosed study areas for privacy. Additional amenities include a mailroom, computer lab, laundry facility, and an activity room with views of the hardscape plaza and pool to the south.
The project establishes a core residential village on campus, incorporating courtyards with a blend of active and passive spaces. Materials and finishes complement the surrounding desert landscape, with earth-toned concrete masonry units, stucco, and metal panels that introduce a contemporary aesthetic. The design prioritizes natural light and expansive views, enhancing the interior environment and well-being of residents. Strategic building orientation maximizes sun exposure while embracing the mountain and valley vistas through thoughtful glazing and transparency.
By seamlessly integrating functional design with the unique desert surroundings, this completed student housing project reflects Nevada State College’s commitment to providing an enriching, sustainable, and community-focused residential experience.
