Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) at Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
PGAL provided rental car planning services to the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA), integrating a ConRAC into the new multi-use P6 parking garage, which currently serves long-term customers and employees at Toronto-Pearson International Airport.
To add space to the already constrained rental car operations at YYZ, the existing parking garage will require an additional means of circulation, plus a dedicated ramping system to provide secured and exclusive-use operations to all three ground transportation functions within the garage.
The existing garage includes an aboveground people mover (APM) connection that provides access to parking and vertical circulation at Level 4. The new customer service terminal for all rental car companies operating at the airport is planned at this level. Dedicated access to rental car ready/return parking will be available for 2,100 vehicles on Levels 1 and 2.
The ability to truly consolidate operations to this site is dependent upon the addition of an adjacent, multilevel maintenance and storage facility, or quick turnaround area (QTA), for 1,200 storage vehicles, 10 car wash bays, eight maintenance bays, and 48 fueling positions.
