City of Conroe Fire Training Facility

The Conroe Fire Training Center is a 20.95-acre state-of-the-art facility designed to support comprehensive in-service training and future recruit academies for the city’s fire department.

At the heart of Phase 1 is an 8,000-square-foot, three-story Class A burn building, integrated with a six-story training tower. The burn building is equipped to simulate both residential and commercial occupancies, providing 12 fully functional rooms for live fire training. This allows trainees to experience real-world fire conditions and practice fire suppression, search-and-rescue operations, and interior firefighting techniques.

The tower, which reaches a height of 60 feet, is an essential training tool that includes multiple advanced features. It offers various roof and balcony levels for vertical training scenarios, a pitched roof ventilation prop for realistic roof operations, and numerous rope tie-off points for rappel training exercises. Additionally, an upper-level window is specifically designed to accommodate a high-volume 2,000-gallon-per-minute water flow from an aerial master stream, ensuring firefighters are prepared for high-pressure, large-scale firefighting situations.

Features include:

  1. 8,000-square-foot Class A burn building
  2. 60-foot-high training tower
  3. 20.95-acre site to support a wide range of training scenarios
