Princeton Fire Station No. 3

This new fire station marks a significant milestone for Princeton, being the first to be constructed since 1962.

Faced with budget constraints, the City opted for a design-build delivery method (with Design-Builder Crossland Construction) to streamline the process and optimize both time and financial resources.

The 7,560-square-foot, 2.5-bay fire station, featuring two drive-through bays, is strategically located in the city’s southern quadrant to accommodate the rapid development in that area. The structure is a pre-engineered metal building, a cost-effective choice that meets both the functional needs and the project’s budget.

The station includes all essential elements to ensure functionality and comfort for the firefighters. It features a fully equipped kitchen with three separate shift pantries, an entertainment room furnished with oversized recliners for downtime, and a public meeting and training room to foster community engagement and education. Additional accommodations include a fully outfitted fitness room, five sleeping quarters, separate captain’s sleeping room complete with a private office and restroom, and an emergency storm shelter. A safety vestibule is designed to act as a barrier, preventing contaminants from the apparatus bays from entering the living quarters, ensuring the health and safety of the crew.

The site is situated at the edge of a new subdivision and is surrounded by picturesque sunflower fields, providing a scenic backdrop that highlights the station’s role in serving this growing community.

Features include:

  1. Two drive-through fill-size bays and one half-bay

  2. Pre-engineered metal building

  3. Private captain’s quarters
