Dulles Welcomes Phase 2 of International Expansion

Phase 2 of the new world-class International Arrivals Expansion facility has opened, nearly doubling the baggage claim area for International passengers at Dulles International Airport. This phase of the new facility includes four new state-of-the-art carousels which are powered by energy-efficient electric motors that will be fed by an all new baggage handling conveyor system almost a quarter-mile in length. After the 2011 final completion of the 160,000 SF, $100 M expansion, the IAB will have doubled its capacity and will significantly reduce the wait for passengers processed through Customs.
