PGAL Las Vegas Helps Spread the Word

In honor of PGAL’s 70th anniversary, Las Vegas employees spent a day cleaning and preparing gently used books for donation to deserving schools in southern Nevada.

They volunteered for Spread the Word Nevada, a children’s literacy non-profit organization that advances early childhood literacy by placing books into the hands and homes of children within at-risk, low income communities. Each month, the organization distributes more than 45,000 books to 39 schools in the region. 

“We had a great time working together to help an organization that is having such a positive impact in our communities,” says PGAL Principal Chris Larsen. “It’s the first of several volunteer activities we have planned through the rest of the year.”
