Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Public Safety Building

The new 140,000-square-foot public safety headquarters building at DFW Airport houses the administrative and operational offices for the airport’s police, fire, and special services staff, as well as a detention center.

PGAL facilitated collaborative programming/planning sessions with representatives from all departments to determine space needs and optimize efficiency and functionality, while satisfying the airport’s overall objectives.

Strategic collaborative spaces foster interdepartmental interaction and planning. The facility includes administrative offices, support personnel offices, conference rooms, huddle areas, training/seminar rooms, an IT/mechanical room, detention facility, state of art evidence processing and storage facilities, forensic lab, Faraday conference room, hard and soft interrogation rooms, SWAT tactical deployment area, armory, patrol report writing stations, fully equipped patrol gear room, canine cages, sally port, apparatus bay, an outstanding fitness center with functional training equipment, defensive training area, generous locker rooms with ventilation, boot drawers, integrated benches and charging ports and showers with equal emphasis on female locker rooms, private lockers for unique staff requirements, quiet /down - time space and a beautiful café for staff use connecting to outdoor patio. The building incorporates a storm shelter designed per ICC 500 and built in shell space for future expansion flexibility.
